Frequently Asked Questions

Happy New Year! We hope you are managing to keep warm this month. It has been lovely seeing some of you over the Christmas period. Our first No Sleep Club of 2026 was lovely and it has been great supporting some of you at home with feeding. You are all doing so well! We have had lots of inquiries recently from some of you at the beginning of your parenting journeys and it has been a joy to hear from you. We have had a few of the same questions being asked so I thought I would do a wee FAQs for those of you who are thinking about joining us for classes. If you have a specific question or want to speak to us directly then please do get in touch!

  1. Why choose Grow+Gather for antenatal classes?

We are midwives, mothers, antenatal educators as well as accredited yoga and hypnobirthing teachers. We have been at countless births and supported thousands of women in their journeys through pregnancy and into new parenthood. We are passionate about providing reliable, evidence based information in an environment that is relaxed and non-judgemental. We know first hand how exciting and daunting this journey can be and we want to support you to feel informed, calm and confident as you approach birth and in the early days of parenting. We get that there are other providers doing what we do but we pride ourselves on being a small, female led business with support, kindness and connection at our heart. This isn’t about fancy advertising or follows on socials, it is about true connection, calm reassurance and open, honest conversation. Your birth and parenting journey matters to us.

  1. When should I attend your classes/book a 1:1 session?

We get asked this a lot and we aren't specific about this on our website because it’s up to you really. Most couples attend between 28-34 weeks pregnant but some come before

then and others after. There is no set time and it often depends what dates work for your

schedule. We are always happy for people to attend the classes when it feels right for them.

Equally, it might be that you can’t make it to the classes or you would rather have 1:1 support in the comfort of your own home. We are happy to do this at any time that suits you.

  1. What is included in your Gather weekend?

The Gather course is suitable for you (pregnant person) plus your birth partner. You are

welcome to bring along any support person that you wish - friend, sister, husband. When you

book to attend our Gather workshop you have access to a full weekend of midwifery led

antenatal education. We focus on birth and labour on day one and then the early weeks with

baby on day two. From January 2026, we also include our First Aid workshop as part of the course too. After attending Gather, you are able to get in touch with us at any time if you have any concerns or worries. You will also become part of a network of parents-to-be who continue to support each other once your baby is born. During our weekend Gather course we include handouts, tea and coffee, snack boxes and a goody box to take home.

  1. Can I attend solo?

Absolutely. We are always happy to support you in whatever feels right. We have lots of solo

parents who come along to our classes as well as those whose partner might be working or

away. Just get in touch with us and we can make an arrangement that suits you best.

  1. What if my baby comes early?

If your baby makes an early appearance we are always happy to offer a full refund, just get in

touch with us as soon as you can. You might like to attend some of the course or for us to come and support you at home with feeding.

  1. I still have a few questions….

That is totally fine! We would love to hear from you. Why not send us an email or give us a ring. We want to make sure you feel totally happy booking our classes and would love to answer any questions you might have.
