No Sleep Club

It was just before Covid that Hailey and I started running our antenatal classes and the following few years meant that it was very difficult for everyone to come together. For those with new babies there was little in the way of postnatal support and Hailey and I were so conscious of wanting to bring new parents together as soon as we could. Whilst we are incredibly passionate about all things labour and birth, we realise that support in the early days and weeks with a baby is just as crucial. Which is why we started running our monthly No Sleep Club. No doubt it's a difficult club to be part of. In truth, I feel like after having my first born I am a very deserving founding member!! Those early weeks with a newborn are hard and whilst we try and be upfront and honest about the demands of looking after a new baby, it's difficult to fully explain how it feels and looks in those early days until you are in the thick of it.
Our monthly meet up is friendly, relaxed and informal. There is no set time to arrive and you can stay and have a blether in the space after too. There isn't a set format to the No Sleep Club. We come together and share our previous few weeks and talk about challenges and high lights and of course...sleep! One of the things I really struggled with when I had a new baby was getting to classes on time. Or even buying a block of classes and then hardly making it to any because of naps or teething or colds. The No Sleep Club is a drop in morning or afternoon. There is no sign up needed. You just come as you are no matter how sleep deprived or milk stained!

We have toys and cups of tea on hand. Hailey and I love a baby cuddle whilst you get a hot drink and a biscuit. It's a great way to meet others. At our last No Sleep Club I introduced two mums that were actually neighbours and hadn't realised! You don't need to have been to our antenatal classes either - all are welcome. At the moment we meet in the community room at Stockbridge Library. It's a beautiful, old, cosy room and we close the doors and not worry about all the noise we make. Hailey and I take it in turns to attend each session and so there is always a midwife on hand to ask any questions you might have too.
If you would like to join us our next session on the 12th of June 1015-1130(ish) or the 13th of July at 1500(ish). We would love to see you there!
